Our Institute’s Research Days 2025: showcasing innovation in biomedicine and nanomedicine
The Institute of Biomedicine and Translational Medicine held its annual Research Days on January 30–31, 2025 — a vibrant two-day event bringing together researchers to share new findings, spark collaborations, and highlight scientific achievements.
This year, we were delighted to have as the keynote speaker our great collaborator and visiting professor of Uiversity of Tartu, Prof. Hélder Almeida Santos (University of Groningen, Netherlands), whose lecture “Mending the Broken Heart: Nanomedicines for Targeting Myocardial Infarction” drew strong interest and stimulated discussion on emerging therapeutic strategies in cardiovascular nanomedicine.
Our lab also had an excellent opportunity to present advances in brain-targeted delivery. Kristina Põšnograjeva, PhD student and Junior Research Fellow, gave a well-received talk titled “Blood–Brain Barrier Penetrating Peptide Cerepep,” highlighting our progress in the development of Cerepep as a shuttle peptide for efficient and selective transport into the brain.
More information about the Research Days can be found on the institute’s webpage.
